TimeTurtle is a free daily history game. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
What we collect
- A random player ID. Your browser makes up a random code the first time you play. It isn't linked to your name, email, phone or location.
- Your guesses and scores for each event you play.
- Difficulty ratings and comments you choose to send after an answer. Please don't put personal information in comments.
- Simple visit counts: that your player ID visited, started a trip or tapped Share on a given day, and the website or link tag that sent you (for example "reddit" or "bluesky"). This tells us which places people find the game.
We don't ask for accounts, names or email addresses, and we don't use cookies, advertising or third-party trackers.
Why we collect it
To see which events are too easy or too hard, fix mistakes players point out, and make better puzzles. We look at the data in aggregate (for example, "the average score on November 5 was 742").
What stays on your device
Your progress, streak and stats are saved in your browser's local storage so the game remembers you. Clearing your browser data erases them.
Where it's stored
Guesses, ratings and comments are stored with Cloudflare, which runs the game's servers. Aggregated statistics and comments may be kept in the game's private code repository to help plan future puzzles.
Changes
If we start collecting anything new (for example, if we add ads), we'll update this page first.
